AddressOur NSW Government client is hiring for a highly capable Economics Analyst to join their organisation. By Joining the Economics and Evaluation Unit this role undertakes analysis and provides economic expertise to support the delivery of organisational priority initiatives. Furthermore, program evaluations of outcomes and process evaluations of early impacts/ implementations is required. Part-Time Applications can be considered.
Role Title: Economics Analyst
Contract Length: 6 months, with a chance of extending.
Hourly Pay: $65 - $75 + Super per hour.
Location: St Leonards (2065)/WFH Hybrid
Role Requirements:
- Provide timely, high level advice and support to Senior Managers and the Director of the unit.
- Support a broad range of economic analyses to inform the economic and resource implications of projects.
- Support the development and application economic appraisal methodologies and recommendations on proposed models of care.
- Prepare documents including economic appraisals, briefing papers, discussion papers, reports etc as requested to support organisational objectives and outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, representing and negotiating on behalf of the unit, in order to facilitate contributions to the evaluation process regarding the economic and resourcing implementations of proposals.
Key Challenges:
- Participating in multiple projects and activites requiring high quality outcomes and deliverables.
- Obtaining engagement and agreement from key partners to maximise acceptance of new initiatives.
- Keeping up to date with current economic and funding methodologies and approaches.
Knowledge and Experience:
- 3 + years experience in a similar role.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability in using macro and micro economic tools in conducting economic appraisals, modelling and analysis and applying this to current and proposed systems for delivery.
- Demonstrated high level analytical skills to undertake complex analyses using multiple data sources.
- Proven ability to undertake projects utilizing project planning, prioritizing and time management skills within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with senior management and external stakeholders to deliver projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Candidates must be based in the Greater Sydney Area and must possess existing full working rights - Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia.
