Job Description
We are seeking a Research Assistant that will provide a high-level support to the research group within the area of Health Economics. Working alongside senior staff, the Research Assistant will be a key member of the Centre for Applied Health Economics (CAHE) and its operational and strategic goals through the planning, delivery and collection of research and respective data report process.
As a Research Assistant, you’ll take on complex local and global challenges, using your skills and experience to drive meaningful change. Here’s how you’ll make it matter:
- Assist with research duties such as data collection, storage and preliminary analysis of data, drafting reports and scholarly articles in accordance with research protocols.
- Undertake literature searches, conduct simple interviews and routine scientific testing.
- Coordinate meetings between researchers and participating external participants as required.
- Support compliance with relevant legislation and University policies and procedures, including research ethics, equity and health & safety, laboratory standards and exhibit good practice in relation to same.
- Be a leading example of the principles and values embodied in the University’s Code of Conduct and behave, act, and communicate at all times to reflect fairness, ethics and professionalism.
This is a fixed term (12 months), full time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The base salary will be Research Assistant, Grade 2 range $80,664 - $84,830 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total package will be in the range $94,377 - $99,251 per annum.

You will also have:
- The occupant of this position will hold a master’s degree in health economics or an equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience.
- Have experience in conducting cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis in influenza, neonatal care and oncology.
- High level interpersonal and organisational skills and highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- A demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to meet competing deadlines and work effectively as a team member.
- Excellent attention to detail.
