Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Surgery Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The Head Surgery Veterinary Nurse will play a crucial role in the surgical department, overseeing all aspects of surgical nursing care and providing leadership to the surgery nursing team. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the surgery nursing team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Manage a team of up to 10 individuals, including nurses and interns, ensuring effective communication, teamwork, and performance management.
- Coordinate and oversee all surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to protocols and standards of care.
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, including preparation of surgical suites, monitoring anaesthesia, and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate seamless patient care and communication.
- Participate in staff training and continuing education programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
About You:
- Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in veterinary nursing, with a focus on surgery.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical nursing techniques and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and client service.
- Proficient anaesthesia skills with the ability to monitor patients safely and effectively.
