Job Description
This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the continued growth of our 24 bed DOSA and Pre-Admissions unit.
Key areas of focus for this role include:
- As part of the Epworth leadership team, delivering an exceptional patient and staff experience in accordance with Epworth HealthCare values
- Ensuring patient flow is managed whilst providing high standards of patient care
- Leading a team through role-modelling empathetic and person-centred care to patients, families, VMO's and staff
- Building and nurturing a strong capable workforce within the unit
- Promoting and supporting ongoing learning and education for all team members
- Recruitment, staff retention, professional development, financial management, occupational health and safety
- Supporting the goals and strategy of the organisation
To be successful in the role you will…
- Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
- Be an experienced clinical leader, capable of engaging staff to deliver the Epworth HealthCare vision and strategic goals
- Be highly accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style
- Have well-developed and effective cross-departmental relationship management skills
- Have a bias for the positive and be versatile to embrace the growth of both the role and Epworth Geelong
- Have a contemporary knowledge of best practice in surgical procedures and the patient journey
- Hold a current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
