ABOUT THE ROLE
We have a great opportunity for an experiencedHead Theatre Technician (Grade 4) or an exceptional Theatre Technician (Grade 3) who would like the opportunity to step up into leadership role, to join our friendly and fun Theatre Team. Reporting directly to Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) Theatre, you are responsible for the supervision of all Theatre Technicians and Orderly’s in the Perioperative Services Team.
This is a permanent full time role across a variety of shifts and days based at The Bays Hospital in Mornington.
The key responsibilities include:
- The overall responsibility for the operating rooms for each surgical and endoscopic procedure, ensuring availability and functionality of necessary equipment and supplies
- Coordinating equipment supplies, repairs and replacement
- Additional managerial responsibilities and day to day coordination of technicians and orderlies
- Orientating and training new technicians and supporting the upskilling of technicians
- Coordinating the safe and efficient transfer of patients internal and external to the Perioperative Services Department
ABOUT YOU
We would love to hear from you if you have the following skills and attributes:
- Certificate III or IV in Health Service Assistance (Operating Theatre Technical Support)
- Clinical experience (ideally 3 years) across all specialties, which includes Orthopaedics.
- A committed and supportive team member with the ability to work cohesively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent Communication, interpersonal and time management skills
