We are currently seeking a part-time Clinician to join our team at headspace Emerald. Our Clinician will provide effective screening, assessment, targeted, goal and outcome focussed interventions for young people aged 12-25 years accessing headspace Emerald. They will have the opportunity to support a young person after initial contact by providing ongoing therapeutic intervention according to best practice standards.
What will a typical day look like?
- Monitor and conduct young people’s focused clinical assessments and ascertain care plans as required.
- Delivering of 1:1 counselling, psycho-education and skills building to the young people, in-centre and at outreach locations as directed.
- Deliver evidence based early/brief intervention therapy, including group interventions and problem solving with young people and their families.
- Work collaboratively with the young person and their families to develop individual treatment plans that are person centred and directed by the young person as much as possible.
- Provide an inclusive practice that values the significance of family and friends in a young person’s life.
- Attend and contribute to regular Care Coordination Review meetings as directed.
- Full COVID-19 Vaccination
- Approved tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline including counselling, social work, psychology (clinical counselling and 4+2 pathway or 5+1 pathway), mental health nursing and occupational therapy.
- Current full or provisional AHPRA registration as a psychologist, clinical psychologist, occupational therapist, social worker willing to work towards their mental health accreditation or those with a Counselling need to have eligibility for full professional registration at a minimum of Level 1 within the Australian Counselling Association scope of practice guidelines willing to work towards a level 2 & 3.
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
- Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
