Mount Owen Glendell Operations (MGO) Mine located in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales, 20 kilometres North of Singleton, contains the Mt Owen and Glendell open cut mines. The integration of these operations enables all sites to use a single coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) and infrastructure at Mt Owen Mine.

We currently have an exciting opportunity available in our Health, Safety and Training team, reporting to the Health, Safety and Training Manager. Your role as a Health and Safety Coordinator will specialise in managing the site assurance and compliance programs that support the operational departments in all aspects of health, safety and risk management.

Your role will involve providing support and advice, coordination, and monitoring of compliance to relevant legislation, Glencore policies and practices along with coordinating the site assurance program which includes audits, visible leadership activities and investigation quality reviews. You will be an integral part of a team committed to a high standard of health, safety, and continuous improvement. You will have relevant qualifications in assurance and/or safety supported by a thorough understanding of WHS and Coal Mine legislation.

The requirements for success in this role include:

• Experience in a compliance or assurance role (mining industry desirable)
• Experience with the development and maintenance of safety and health management systems
• Excellent working relationships
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
