As a group, we are growing rapidly and as part of the actively helping to advance the energy transition towards net zero.About your new role:Energy Queensland currently has a permanent opportunity for a Customer Project Technical Officer to join a dedicated team who provide information and advice to customers on all aspects of electricity supply, in particular new connections and extensions. This position can be located at any major Energy Queensland location including Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Toowoomba or Townsville. We are focused on developing our people to ensure they have the skills and capabilities to thrive in a diverse and inclusive environment.As the Customer Project Technical Officer, you will investigate customer enquiries and liaise with relevant officers and work groups to ensure a high level of customer service. You will also be responsible for the negotiation of complex supply arrangements, detailed design parameters and preparation of connection contracts. Additionally you will identify technical requirements and develop scope documents for network extensions/modifications.The remuneration for your new position starts from $128,196 - $137,230 + 12.75% Super for 9-day fortnight and $144,862 - $155,065 + 12.75% super for 10-day fortnight if you have met the essential qualification.Why choose to work for us?It’s an exciting time to join us and to be involved in the energy sector, so consider us for your next career move, where you will experience:

About you:To be successful this position you will be experienced in general connection processes including Conditions of Supply and assessment of Maximum Demand. Additionally, you will possess:Essential:
  • Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Desirable:
  • Queensland Electrical Licence as Electrical Fitter / Mechanic or Electrical Linesperson/ Jointer.
  • Certificate IV in Power Systems Design or equivalent.
  • Technical understanding of activities of an electricity distribution authority including design, construction, maintenance, and operation of underground and overhead mains and associated equipment.
  • Excellent ability in customer negotiations, formal and informal communication skills, and the ability to foster good relationships with our internal and external stakeholders to deliver efficient, cost-effective Customer Projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant sections of the Electricity Act and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and other relevant statutory acts and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications and manage competing project milestones to meet business and project targets.
