An exciting opportunity exists to join our Federation Project team. Having secured a funding solution for the Project in May 2023, we’ve started mobilising to site. Federation is one of the highest-grade base metals development projects in Australia The Federation deposit hosts high-grade zinc, lead, and gold mineralisation and is located in 15 kilometres south of the central-west township of Nymagee. – this is a new mine site opening not to be missed!

The Role
Join our dedicated team as a Health and Safety Superintendent, where your expertise will be pivotal in delivering top-tier Health and Safety services. You'll play a key role in safeguarding our team and equipment, all while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation. Flexible and Convenient Work Schedule:
We understand the importance of balancing professional commitments with personal life. Our 8 days on, 6 days off roster pattern allows for this balance, with direct FIFO arrangements from Brisbane and Sydney to Cobar. For those in Melbourne, Adelaide, or Canberra, travel includes a convenient connection via Sydney, providing easy access to our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the integration and compliance of Contractor Safety Management Systems with Aurelia's standards, fostering a secure and compliant work environment.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System for the Federation Project, ensuring alignment with organisational safety goals.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to create and implement critical safety documentation (PCPs, PHMPs, RAs, Inductions), enhancing our safety culture and operational efficiency.
- Support the effective operation and enhancement of our Safety Management System across Federation Operations, identifying opportunities for safety innovations.
- Coordinate essential Health and Safety services, ensuring the Federation Management team is supported in maintaining a secure working environment.
- Uphold the highest standards of Health and Safety compliance, meeting all relevant internal and external obligations and setting a benchmark for industry excellence.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to key stakeholders, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability in all Health and Safety matters.
About You
- Holder of an unencumbered Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Possess a minimum Diploma in WHS, complemented by a wealth of experience in leading Health and Safety initiatives, within heavy industry or underground mining environments.
- In-depth knowledge of NSW WHS and Mining Acts and Regulations.
- Proficient in crafting and implementing Safety Management Systems and risk assessments.
- Tech-savvy with a good grasp of H&S information systems like INX.
- A natural mentor with exceptional interpersonal, influence, and communication skills.
- Qualifications like ICAM Lead Investigator & OHS Lead Auditor are part of your toolkit.
- Desirable: Cert IV in Training & Assessment, Emergency Management, Frontline Management, Health Care (Ambulance), and accredited training in Workers Compensation and Injury Management.
