Senior Manager, Safety And Health

Peabody is guided by seven core values: safety, customer focus, leadership, people, excellence, integrity and sustainability.About the role:We are currently seeking a Senior Manager Safety & Health, Systems and Governance to join our corporate Health, Safety & Environment team based in Brisbane.Reporting to the Director Health, Safety, Environment, the main purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership and support to the Peabody Australia platform on all Health & Safety systems, governance and reporting activities. Maintain a proactive Safety leadership presence and drive culture and process enhancements across all Peabody Operations. Ensure a high degree of Safety systems support, development and governance is maintained across the Peabody Australia platform.Duties will include:

• Collate, provide governance, analyse and report on the Australian platform's health and safety performance.
• Development of regular corporate reports and presentation materials for the Peabody Safety Leadership Team (PSLT) and Australian Leadership Team.
• Review the site reporting of health and safety performance and provide coaching and mentoring to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide expert safety support and advice to the Director HS&E, site Statutory, EGM/GM and safety personnel and other functional team members.
• Foster a Safety culture underpinned by continuous improvement and ensure key learnings and improvements are replicated and implemented across the platform.
• Assist in driving consistency in Safety culture, performance and reporting across all Peabody operations.

The lifestyle:This position is offered on a Monday to Friday basis, working from our Fortitude Valley office with working from home options. Peabody offers flexible start / finish times and 'redistributed working week' giving employees flexibility to finish at noon on Friday's.About you:You have significant mining sector experience with a high level of expertise in Safety and Health systems, governance programs and fundamental transactional activities.As a strong communicator, you have a track record of success in engaging and influencing others in order to manage and successfully implement process and system changes.In addition to this, you are data driven, possess strong analytical skills and have had exposure to Risk Management and Safety and Health auditing.Whilst not essential, the following will also be highly regarded:

• Experience in process improvement (Six Sigma or similar)
• Competent in use of SAP platform, specifically SAP Fiori
• Competent in use of Power BI application desirable
