Job description

  • Newly created role where you’ll have the opportunity to share your Health and hygiene expertise.
  • Varied and diverse role within a multi-industry business
  • Competitive Remuneration, free parking, onsite gym, subsidised café & genuine flexibility – talk to us about what works for you!

The best career you never imagined.

The Port of Brisbane is a cornerstone of the Queensland economy. As the company entrusted to maintain and develop the Port and its operations, we play a vital and diverse role. And so will you.

Join us in this newly created Health and Wellbeing Specialist role where you will be responsible for all injury management and early intervention, providing Health and hygiene expertise across the business including the healthy lifestyle and Wellbeing program. You will build and nurture relationships across the business and with providers becoming a trusted advisor, and driving positive impact across the Port of Brisbane.

Caring, skilled and great with people: here’s who we’re looking for.

  • You’re passionate about Health and Wellbeing and excited to create, implement and manage new and improved programs including injury prevention and management, occupational hygiene, and healthy lifestyles.
  • You hold qualifications in the Health, Safety and Hygiene/Allied Health and/or Nursing and are experienced in injury management, return to work and workers compensation case management.
  • You’re experienced in coaching and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the business with a genuine care.
  • You’re resilient and enjoy working collaboratively within a small team whilst building positive working relationships across the business.

This bit matters! We’re an equal opportunity employer and we’re proud of our diverse work environment. We are also on our own journey to support an even more diverse and inclusive workplace culture. We recognise the need to continue to encourage diversity and strive to have a workforce that is representative of our community. If you have any questions about our inclusivity or accessibility, please do get in touch.

Five reasons why we hope you’ll apply.

You’ll enjoy some great benefits at Port of Brisbane but joining us in this role should mean so much more.

1. A diverse role where every day’s different

As a Health and Wellbeing Specialist, you’ll get interesting, unique work, as you engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. What’s more, you’ll love the opportunity to see the initiatives your work on having a positive impact.

2. An important job, a powerful purpose
What we do at Port of Brisbane affects all Queenslanders and many who visit our proud state. So it’s vital that we have the right people in the right jobs at the right time, and we’re continually focused on your growth and development.

3. A place where flexibility matters too
We expect a lot from our people, who are committed and dedicated to our mission. But in return for your efforts, you’ll enjoy flexibility and balance, no matter what’s important to you outside of work. Talk to us about a 9-day fortnight, working from home, staggered start and finish times or other arrangements that would support balance.

4. A welcoming, supportive culture
You’ll find so many friendly, connected people at Port of Brisbane, and our Governance team are no exception. We love to collaborate, with a focus always on our customers.

5. A proud reputation: a bright future
You’ll join a company and team striving for a sustainable impact. But we’re not sitting still. Bring your fresh perspectives and expertise to a team that truly values them.
