The role of the Safety and Wellbeing Specialist is responsible for Work, Health and Safety (WHS) at Coal LSL. This role will lead the design, implementation, continuous improvement, and execution of the WHS plan, ensuring a focus on physical and psychosocial safety, and will drive strategies and initiatives related to staff Health and Wellbeing.
You will:
- provide advice and solutions on matters relating to safety and Wellbeing
- coach and mentor leaders and provide practical support as needed
- stay abreast of WHS legislation and ensure all internal policies, procedures and frameworks are compliant with legislative requirements
- monitor and report on safety and Wellbeing initiatives and deliverables to demonstrate ROI and impact
- proactively identify risks and associated management strategies as they relate to safety and Wellbeing
- manage workplace injuries and return to work plans in collaboration with the HR Operations team.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
To be successful in the role of Safety and Wellbeing Specialist, you will have experience in Work, Health, and Safety (WHS) in a white collar workplace. You will be passionate about developing, implementing and coordinating wellbeing programs and initiatives, including physical and psychosocial safety.
Your background will demonstrate:
- understanding of WHS legislation, frameworks, systems, policies, and practices, with experience applying these principles in a white-collar work environment
- extensive practical experience in conducting risk assessments, analysing data, and applying appropriate risk management strategies
- sound knowledge and experience on ISO45001.
You will have qualifications in psychological or health sciences, WHS or a relevant combination of experience and education/training.
