Health Care Assistant

The role:
Under supervision, and in accordance with Agency policy, legal, regulatory, and funded program requirements, the Health Care Assistant provides high quality care and support to community and/or facility-based clients and assists with a range of daily living activities that a person would normally do for themselves.

Launceston Community Nursing Service:
Is a proactive and dynamic service that cares for clients in their homes in the community
Works collaboratively in a team of administration, Health Care Assistants and Registered Nurses
Works collaboratively in a primary health environment with primary health providers
Details of Appointments
Permanent, part time, day worker (not working weekends but working public holidays) position working 16 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Fixed term, casual, day worker working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for 24 months.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $60,666 - $63,222 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Current Driver’s Licence
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
Conviction checks in the following areas:
crimes of violence
sex related offences
serious drug offences
crimes involving dishonesty
serious traffic offences
Identification check
Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
