About the role
This position sits within the Energy Outreach Initiative. It works in partnership with Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) to deliver direct support to priority communities living in Melbourne's 17 public housing high rise towers to access DEECA's Power Saving Bonus (PSB) program as well as provide energy affordability support to help residents lower the cost of their bills and access energy entitlements.

Your duties include:
Work with the Team leader and DEECA's senior project officer to deliver one on one support to residents in the high rises to access the Power Saving Bonus (PSB) program and access to energy affordability support
Support residents requiring assistance in a language other than English
Link in with established local community groups to promote the PSB scheme
Support priority communities with understanding how to access information about energy affordability and power saving schemes

Our ideal candidate:
Evidence of strong connection and networks within the Melbourne's public housing high rise communities
Ability to read, write and speak a second language
Previous experience promoting/supporting energy projects or similar (desired not essential)
Comfortable talking to people about the PSB energy scheme.
All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses).
Roles that are determined to be Risk Category A or B [staff that have direct and/or indirect contact with body substances and are at higher risk of occupational exposure to infections] will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza prior to commencement [A] or within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
