About Go Sports
For over 30 years Go Sports has been providing sports coaching classes to primary school children throughout Brisbane. Our classes aim to improve motor skills and promote an active lifestyle to primary school children aged 4 years to 9 years.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Go Sports team in creating, implementing and delivering a coaching plan that is based on the development of a progressive skills based sports program.
- Motivating and inspiring the coaching team to deliver structured skills based programs that inspire movement and the learning of games so that students leave the class with a smiling face.
- Ability to organise coaches in a supportive and positive manner, and to communicate clearly information relating to their position, school, venue.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding and training of quality coaches who share in Go Sports’ values.
- Manage the coach roster process and allocation for each sport/class.
- Developing, rewarding and retaining all coaches through effective performance management and performance reviews (including providing feedback to help coaches develop skills.)
- Leading by example and providing support and cover to the team when required.
- Supporting Go Sports’ Managers in developing and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure a strong presence within the local community.
- Linking and maintenance of all employees to First Aid and blue card services, as well as being responsible for managing all coaches in regards to student protection requirements.
- Ability to relate well to parents.
- Managing equipment required for coaches and coaching sessions.
Qualifications & experience
The successful applicant would demonstrate:
- Commitment to the Go Sports mission, vision and values.
- Relevant qualification or experience (3+ years) in Sports Coaching and/or Teaching for primary school aged children (aged 4 years - 9 years) is an essential requirement.
- Strong knowledge of technique, training principles, and teaching strategies for all sports and in particular cricket, tennis, netball, basketball, and soccer.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Proven leadership abilities and the ability to effectively manage a coaching team.
- Passion for working with young children and helping them be more active more often.
- Current Blue Card and First Aid certificate.
- Own transport.
- Applicants will be expected to be available at minimum during the hours of 6am - 9am, Monday to Friday during Go Sports’ before school classes.

- Competitive salary commensurate with experience: $75,000 - $85,000 per year + super + bonus.
