Holmesglen Private is seeking a motivated and diligent Health Information Services Officer to join our Medical Records team on a part-time basis.

Holmesglen Private is a state of the art 147 bed hospital, comprising of a 24/7 Emergency Department, 6 bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 9 bed specialised Coronary Care Unit (CCU), 12 bay Day Infusion Unit and 5 specialised inpatient units. – including Oncology, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, Interventional Cardiology and Rehabilitation Services
As a Health Information Services Officer your responsibilities will include:
• Compiling and sorting medical records to be electronically tracked
• Medical record retrieval
• Internal and external phone and fax communication
• Provision of Health Information to internal and external clients
• Filing and culling of medical records
• Day to day functionality of the Health Information Service Department
• Participating in performance improvement activities
Essential Criteria:
• Authority to Work in Australia
• Proficient in use of email, web based applications and Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology (Desirable)
• Ability to work autonomously and as a team member in a small team environment
• Ability to work within deadlines
• Flexibility in responding to the changing needs of the business
• Commitment to document security and patient privacy
• Experience with the WebPAS patient information system (Desirable)
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting or record keeping environment (Desirable)
• Previous experience in Health Information Services (Desirable)
