St John of God Berwick Hospital has a total of 202 beds, eight operating theatres, a cardiac/vascular laboratory and six birthing suites. The hospital provides a wide range of services caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including cardiology, maternity, medical and surgical, offering state of the art equipment and facilities to our rapidly growing community. The hospital has a 16 bed Critical Care Unit with 6 Intensive Care beds and 10 Cardiac/HDU beds. Our aim is to deliver the very best in health care at our Berwick Hospital.Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital To maintain a high standard of health records and provide an efficient service to internal departments and external organisations. The Position Accurate and timely scanning of health record documents into the Scanned Health Record System (SHRS) Prepare and verify documents for scanning to SHRS. Respond to telephone, email and fax enquiries from other departments and external organisations for requests for patient information. Liaise with secondary storage contractor for the retrieval and return of health records. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with SJGHC Policy. Participate as a valued team member promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment. Communicate effectively with all customers and patients using the appropriate channels, utilising appropriate formal and informal channels of communication. Available to work across St John of God Health Care, South East Melbourne (SEM) sites (Berwick, Frankston and Langmore)You will have the ability to use initiative and demonstrate reliability. You being self-motivated and able to prioritise a busy and varied workload.To succeed you will have an understanding of working in a Health Information Services environment in an administrative capacity. You will possess excellent communication, customer service and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
