Health Information Specialist

The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Health Information Specialist to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Actively support and participate in the implementation of governance, business and compliance improvements
* Monitor and reconcile information within patient records and other sources to ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies and statutory requirements
* Provide advice to internal stakeholders to ensure procedures, policy and publications align with information management domains
* Research, develop, implement and evaluate best practice clinical forms design to ensure the optimum design of clinical forms
* Undertake activities in relation to the collection and submission of Queensland Hospital Admitted Patient Data Collection
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
* While not mandatory, experience in an information or data role would be well regarded
* A relevant degree in Health Management, Health Information Management, Health Sciences, Information Technology or equivalent would be well regarded
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
* Permanent full time
* Base salary ranging from $102 492 - $111 516 per annum
