Status: Full Time Fixed Term (until 30 June 2026)
Salary: $78,725 - $98,406 p.a. + 11% superannuation contribution

About Us
Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Opportunity
The Health Promotion Officer facilitates and supports the planning, implementation and evaluation of best practice Health Promotion initiatives that address priority health issues in Cape York communities using a variety of population health strategies.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary degree in Health Promotion, Public Health with a Health Promotion Major, or a relevant Post Graduate Diploma
- Demonstrated Health Promotion project planning with the ability to effectively conduct community health needs assessments to guide project development
- Experience planning, implementation and evaluation of best practice Health Promotion projects and activities
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to address priority health issues in remote community settings
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of evidenced based Health Promotion principles, frameworks, theories and models to inform Health Promotion practice.
- Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs
- Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
