ABOUT THE ROLE
We are expanding the maintenance team and are looking for trade-qualified Diesel Fitters (diagnostic) and trade-qualified boilermakers. The roles include contributing to the team efforts and business goals by:
- Adhering to all safety protocols and embracing Hillery Group's safety culture.
- Undertake maintenance, preventative maintenance and refurbishment of Hillery Group’s and associated companies’ plant, fleet, and equipment following the manufacturers’ requirements and company standards.
- Maintain and compile relevant records on maintenance and repair works, including completion of all necessary paperwork associated with purchase orders, invoicing, service records etc.
- Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment, grinders and carbon rod gauging.
- Assist other members of the maintenance department as required.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials or products and notify supervisors.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and look for improvement opportunities.
- Respond to call-outs as required.
ABOUT YOU:
We are seeking a Boilermaker & Heavy Machinery Diesel Fitter with a can-do flexible attitude and excellent customer service skills as well as the following:
• Must be trade qualified with at least two (2) years post-trade experience.
• Hold a current QLD MR driver’s licence or be willing to obtain it.
• Work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• A ‘CAN-DO” attitude with the ability to deliver first-class solutions.
• High level of diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with fixed plant equipment.
• Positive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• High regard for safety on the job.
• Experience with working and providing instruction to apprentices.
• Australian citizen or right to work in Australia.
