Position Overview:

As a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic at Deanes Coaches Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our fleet of buses and coaches. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems, helping to uphold our reputation for superior service and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to ensure optimal performance of buses and coaches.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Repairing and replacing faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
• Performing scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
• Collaborating with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure minimal disruption to service.
• Documenting all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage accurately in maintenance records.
• Breakdown Assistance on a rostered basis, fully equipped ute supplied.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, with specific experience in Heavy Vehicles, buses, or coaches preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
• Valid driver's licence (MR/HR a bonus)
