Position Title:Hepatitis B Community Education Officer
Level: Level 5 (0.6 FTE)
Primary Objective:
Are you passionate about empowering communities and improving health outcomes? We are seeking a dedicated Hepatitis B Community Education Officer to spearhead our health promotion and education initiatives. In this role, you will lead efforts to educate and support at-risk populations, particularly those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people born to mothers with chronic hepatitis.

HepatitisWA is a not-for-profit organisation committed to eliminating hepatitis B & C in Australia. We strive to minimise the personal and socio-economic impact of viral Hepatitis By providing leadership in community services, promoting awareness, and influencing public health policy. As part of our dynamic team, you will work collaboratively to achieve our mission.
Position Accountability:
Reporting to the Community Services Manager, you will have the autonomy to implement innovative programs guided by our organisation's policies and procedures. Your work will directly contribute to our overarching goals and objectives.
Responsibilities/Key Tasks:
As the Hepatitis B Community Education Officer, you will:
- Develop and implement culturally nuanced health promotion programs targeting at-risk communities.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with external agencies and organisations to amplify our outreach efforts.
- Conduct needs assessments and analysis of relevant epidemiological data to inform program development.
- Represent HepatitisWA at various events, committees, and meetings.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and incorporate feedback to enhance future initiatives.
Hours of Work:
This is a 0.6 FTE position with standard working hours of 45 hours per fortnight. Occasional work outside of these hours may be required and will be accrued as paid TOIL hours.
Remuneration:
The position offers a competitive salary package, in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award, along with generous salary packaging options and superannuation benefits.
