SMYL Community College is a referral only ‘Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education' (CaRE) School that caters specifically for students who have disengaged from mainstream education. The College offers a full-time alternative education programme under the School Education Act 1999 (WA) for 12 to 18 year olds.
The College is seeking a Vocational Training Administrator (VTA) who is experienced at working within both a school and training setting. The successful candidate(s) will ideally be experienced in working within the independent school sector.
The VTA works closely with teachers and trainers to provide a wide range of administrative support.
The VTA will be required to perform a range of duties including:
Provide support to ensure that RTO reporting requirements are met and that databases are maintained as relevant and up to date.
Provide ongoing support to ensure that records of attendance, training delivery and other critical aspects of trainee records are accurate and up to date.
Maintain a thorough and complete understanding of, and ensure compliance with all SMYL policies and procedures, regulatory standards and other legal obligations.
To be successful in this position you should satisfy the following criteria:
High level administrative, organisational and time management skills.
Demonstrated strong computer skills and experience in using word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email packages.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the role of a Registered Training Organisation (including Standards for Registered Training Organisation’s 2015) is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the role of a CARE School (including Registration Standards for Non-Government Schools) would be an advantage.
Well-developed verbal communication skills and the ability to produce accurate reports, letters and other written materials to a high standard.
The position will be three days per week on commencement.
