About the role:
CIC Higher Education is growing and as such we’re recruiting for engaging and insightful student-centered lecturers in Melbourne for the Information Technology/ Information System (IS) department.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Successful teaching of selected units
- Marking of assessments
- Assisting in the evaluation of program and course curricula
- Assisting in the maintenance of curriculum standards
- Developing comprehensive and pedagogically sound lesson plans
- Contributing to Higher Education key performance Indicators
- Making recommendations regarding the design, development and revision of programs and courses
- Advising and assist students with academic issues and concerns
- Ensuring the LMS is updated for taught units
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the role of Higher Education lecturer as requested by management staff
Qualifications, Experience & Technical skills:
- PhD in IT or Master’s qualification with at least three year technical work experience in IT.
- Sensitivity to the needs of international students
- Substantiveness and thoughtfulness when grading assessments
- Demonstrated teaching experience in the IT courses at undergraduate or postgraduate level, depending on the units taught (Python programming,R Programming, SQL {preferably using SQL Server, VS Code, & .NET Framework}, Windows, and Linux etc.)
- Demonstrated planning, organisational and communications skills in an academic environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite of programs and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems
- Ability to meet ongoing deadlines and work under pressure
- Demonstrated ability of working effectively both autonomously and within a team
- Possess good written and verbal communication and skills
- Eligibility to work in Australia
