We currently have multiple positions available for Support Workers across the Central West NSW region, including Katoomba, Lithgow, and Bathurst areas. Enjoy a fulfilling, flexible work environment within your local area.

Employment status: Casual with an opportunity for permanent part-time for suitable candidates.

Hourly rate: $30.33 -$38.35 p/hr, based on experience and qualification.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Domestic assistance: help with domestic cleaning, meal prep., laundry, etc.
• Social support: assist with travel for appointments, shopping, and outings.
• Personal care: assist with showering, toileting, transferring, incontinence care, feeding, and assistance with mobility and physical exercise, etc.
• Medication prompting and supervision.
• Companionship and dementia care.
• Monitoring and reporting client’s progress and health status
• Attending training and meetings as required

Essential criteria:

• Certificate III in Aged Care / Certificate IV in Home and Community Care or equivalent and/or equivalent experience.
• Current Australian Drivers Licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured motor vehicle
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Manual Handling Certificate
• National Police Certificate
• Evidence of Flu and COVID-19 (minimum 2 doses) vaccination

Selection criteria:

The successful candidates should possess, but not limited to, the following:

• Motivation and commitment to caring for elderly people
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Able to deal with challenging behaviour
• Able to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
• Basic computer knowledge and skills
• Smartphone with Internet Access
• Must be flexible with hours.
• Previous experience as a Support Worker in the Age Care/Community Sector is preferable – not essential.
