POSITION
We have a full-time position for a Horticultural Supervisor in Garradunga, QLD, 4860.
SKILLS
You require at least a Certificate IV or higher qualification and at least 1-year relevant job experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your role as the Horticultural Supervisor will be to supervise banana farm cultivation operations at different farming stages of the banana growth cycle to harvesting.
DUTIES
The position will require the following duties:
• Consulting and planning farm manager to meet achieve production goals.
• Supervising a wide range of farm operations as bagging, de-budding, de-leafing, de-suckering, dieseling, harvesting and banana packing.
• Training, delegating tasks and supervising farm workers.
• Ensuring deadlines are met for cultivation measures.
• Monitoring staff hours, performance and resolving any grievances.
• Overseeing the work of farm workers and suggesting improvements and changes to farm manager.
• Inspecting banana irrigation infrastructure, scheduling watering and sprinkler maintenance.
• Inspect farming equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are made when necessary.
• Ensuring farm workers have appropriate tools and personal protective equipment for anticipated duties.
• Ensuring and enforcing compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards.
• Additional duties may be required from time to time as requested by the business.
SALARY
The salary offered will be $60,000 to $ 70,000 per annum based on your experience.
