Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Horticultural Trainer and Assessor to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging training programs, assessing student competency, and providing mentorship to ensure students achieve their full potential in horticulture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver comprehensive training sessions and workshops covering various aspects of horticulture, including plant propagation, landscape design, pest management, and sustainable gardening practices.
- Assess student performance and competency through practical demonstrations, written assessments, and observation.
- Provide constructive feedback and individualised support to students to facilitate their learning and skill development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and update course materials, ensuring alignment with industry standards and emerging trends in horticulture.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and attendance.
- Stay abreast of developments in horticultural practices, technologies, and research to enhance the quality of training delivery.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and a passion for horticulture.
- Certificate III or higher qualification in Horticulture or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience working in horticulture, with demonstrated expertise in various aspects of the industry.
- Previous experience in vocational education and training.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or willingness to obtain.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
