Responsibilities:
- Designing, planning, and implementing landscaping projects across public parks, gardens, and other municipal areas.
- Selecting appropriate plant species and cultivating them to thrive in various environments.
- Conducting regular assessments of plant health and soil conditions, and implementing necessary measures for maintenance and improvement.
- Managing pest and weed control programs using environmentally friendly methods.
- Collaborating with other departments to integrate landscaping projects with infrastructure development plans.
- Providing expert advice and guidance to community members on gardening and landscaping practices.
- Maintaining accurate records of plant inventory, maintenance activities, and budget expenditures.
- Certificate 3 in Horticulture.
- Proven experience in horticulture, preferably in a municipal or public sector setting.
- Strong knowledge of landscaping principles.
- Ability to design and execute landscaping plans that meet aesthetic, functional, and environmental objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and engage with the community.
- Demonstrated proficiency in horticultural techniques and equipment operation.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate landscape maintenance vehicles and equipment.
