Horticulture Grower

To be considered for this role you must have:

· Certificate III or IV in Horticulture or related field is essential.

· At least two years of relevant experience in industry in similar position.

· You must be an Australian Citizen/Permanent resident or have legal working rights in Australia.

Duties

1. Planning and coordinating with farm director in:

· Selecting and planting seedlings.

· Execution of tomato crop production and marketing, spanning from soil preparation to harvest, while considering environmental and market dynamics.

· Developing strategies for managing climate-related risks.

2. Organizing farming operations such as harvesting, storage, grading, packaging, sales, purchases, and dispatch.

3. Sustaining crop yield through cultivation, pruning, and maintaining optimal growing conditions.

4. Supervising general farming tasks like fertigation, pest and weed control.

5. Maintaining farm infrastructure including buildings, fences, equipment, and water supply systems.

6. Recording and evaluating farming activities, monitoring market trends, and planning crop production to meet contractual obligations and market demand.

7. Recruiting, training, and overseeing staff and contractors.

8. Managing work health and safety.

Preferred Skills and Experiences

· Possess high attention to detail and excellent time management skills

· Have a good working memory and ability to prioritise tasks for efficient time management, and ability to work under pressure and,

· Well-developed organisation skills, as well as leadership and team workingskills.

Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000 per annum plus superannuation
