Red Earth farms is a family owned and operated farm based in the Riverland, specialising in Melons, Grapes, Almonds and Garlic.
Role Description:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience across a broad spectrum of the horticultural field, including propagation, planting and pruning work.
- Get growing media ready, along with appropriate trays, pots, and containers.
- Physically capable of performing manual labour.
- Knowledge of preparation and application of pesticide and weedicide techniques
- Knowledge of pest control techniques like fumigation procedures
- Good understanding of irrigation and nutrition techniques
- Ensure all equipment and machinery is maintained and operated to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Use appropriate tools, machinery and techniques for harvesting crops, cultivate land, sowing, packing of crops and ensure that produce is not damaged.
- Driving vehicles to get equipment to and from the worksite and for delivery of sales stock.
- Maintenance of records and ensure that pre- and post-harvest programs are effectively carried through, as set by the farm owner for maintenance of soil, hydroponic and plant.
- Focus on safety of self and others.

Skills required for the role
- Minimum of 2 years experience in horticulture
- Experience in melon, pumpkins and garlic essential
- Must have a forklift licence
