The position is to supervise the technician staff of the Clinical Neurophysiology Unit, Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick and to assist in the day to day operations and the management of the unit.
The Clinical Neurophysiology Unit is part of the Department of Neurology, Institute of Neurological Sciences, Prince of Wales Hospital and is a shared service with Sydney Children's Hospital. The Unit provides electrophysiological services to referred outpatients, as well as inpatients, of the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children's Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women and the Prince of Wales Private Hospital. Inpatients of all ages are studied, with investigations performed in the Unit as well as on the wards, in the operating theatres and intensive care, if required. A full range of clinical neurophysiological diagnostic services provided. The Unit is actively involved in both training and research.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

- Ability to supervise the recording of high quality electrophysiological investigations in a clinical environment without supervision, in a manner safe for themselves and their patients.
- Proficient in performing routine and specialised electroencephalograpy (EEG).
- Proficient in performing evoked potentials (EPs): brainstem auditory, somatosensory and visual.
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently as conditions require.
- Willingness to undertake in-service or other training and acquire new skills relevant to the position.
- Ability to work with computer-based equipment and common software packages.
- Must hold a Bachelor of Medical or Health Science or such qualifications as the Health Administration Corporation deems equivalent.
