MARRINER GROUP is excited to present an outstanding opportunity for a Hospitality professional to join the team with this senior Hospitality appointment.
This newly created role presents a rare opportunity to upskill our food and beverage team and drive our hospitality program and products over all venues and theatres within the group. This pivotal role will focus on managing and mentoring our skilled teams to deliver an unsurpassed guest experience, whether it be a night at the theatre, a Gala Dinner in the Plaza ballroom or a night of live music at the Forum.
This role represents a great opportunity for a Hospitality Professional from whatever sector, to take a ‘leap of faith’ – and do something completely different from your career to date.
Maybe you have been part of Melbourne’s dynamic restaurant scene or are now looking for the next ‘outside the box’ challenge? Or your current hospo role has found you ‘stuck in the office’ and now you are ready to get back amongst it? Too many meetings and not enough service?

- With a passion for food and beverage, you will conceptualize and introduce menus, wine & beverage lists, and event offerings that focus on product quality and innovation.
- Financially, you will have a keen eye for hospitality expense management, specifically COG’s and labour management including EBA negotiations. You will also have a curious nature and not be afraid to ‘look outside the box’ to meet your financial targets and responsibilities. You will be a natural at internal and external stakeholder engagement and negotiations
- You will ensure compliance across all venues and outlets. From overseeing the OH & S programs, through to Melbourne City Council engagement, and beyond.
- You will embrace and celebrate our staff diversity, and ensure the work environment is bursting with positivity, all whilst maximizing employee engagement and productivity.
- As part of the senior leadership team, you will also be required to represent Marriner Group at trade or industry events, all whilst embracing the Marriner Group core values.
About you:
- You will be a vibrant Hospitality Professional used to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- You will have an appropriate hospitality management background, whether it be from Melbourne’s dynamic restaurant world, or maybe you have had your own hospitality business and are ready to get back into a larger role / organisation? As this role is all about leadership, we are open to considering various hospitality backgrounds
- You will have experience managing large teams of staff of varying skill levels and backgrounds, and will have a proven record of managing, training and motivating teams, and the ability to drive and inspire.
- Financially, you will be all over COG’s and labour management. You will have a strategic and business focused approach, all whilst being personable, supportive and engaging.
- With a passion for food and wine in all their iterations, you will take great delight in championing premium, unique products to be showcased throughout our theatres and venues.
- You will be committed to the highest standards of food hygiene and workplace health & safety
- And of course, offer a high degree of enthusiasm and professionalism.
