We are seeking a friendly and organised individual to join our team as a Host/Hostess at the Red Lion Hotel part of the Laundy Hotel Group. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for guests, welcoming them with a smile and ensuring they have a positive experience from the moment they arrive. Tasks and Responsibilities
- Welcome guests as they enter the pub, engaging them in friendly conversation and making them feel valued and appreciated.
- Take reservations over the phone, via email, or in person, and enter them into the reservation system accurately. Keep track of reservation times and table availability to ensure efficient seating.
- Escort guests to their tables, providing them with menus and assisting with seating arrangements as needed. Pay attention to special requests and accommodate them whenever possible.
- Keep track of waiting guests and provide accurate wait time estimates. Communicate with guests to update them on their status and keep them informed of any delays.
- Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure efficient table turnover and smooth service. Communicate any special requests or guest preferences to the appropriate team members.
- Keep the Host/Hostess station and waiting area clean and organised at all times. Wipe down surfaces, tidy up menus, and ensure a welcoming environment for guests.
- Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries regarding reservations, menu items, and pub policies. Provide accurate information and address any concerns or questions with professionalism and courtesy.
- Inform guests of daily specials, promotions, and upcoming events to encourage additional sales and enhance the guest experience.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a welcoming and approachable demeanour.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanour, with a positive attitude and friendly personality.
