Hotel Manager
Nullagine Hotel is searching for a dynamic and experienced Hotel Manager to lead our team and elevate the guest experience to new heights. The Nullagine Hotel is a remote hotel, bar and shop located in the Nullagine Town Centre.
Nullagine is located two hours north of Newman and one and half hours south of Marble Bar. The business attracts both workers and tourists alike, especially those who enjoy prospecting. Due to the remote location, we offer accommodation and meals to the candidate for the flat rate of $300 per week.
Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Nullagine, our hotel is a haven for travelers seeking comfort and unforgettable moments. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for hospitality, Nullagine Hotel stands as a beacon of warmth and luxury in this charming town.
Tasks Include (but not limited to):
- Assigning other staff with their duties, scheduling their rosters, and supervising them
- Observing and monitoring staff performance and ensuring they adhere to company rules and regulations.
- Supervising the maintenance of the grounds and liaising with the owners when something needs to be repaired.
- Answering questions about the business and dealing with complaints when they arise
- Interviewing, hiring and dismissal of hotel staff when necessary.
- Collecting payments, recording money earned and daily cash and eftpos reconciliation.
- Invoicing of customers who hold monthly accounts.
- Greeting and registering customers and hotel guests
- Coordinating and administering front office duties
- Inspect the entire hotel for cleanliness and ensure standards of appearance are upheld.
- Operate and update the POS software terminals and till
- All ordering of stock for the shop, hotel, restaurant, and bar
- Stock management in the shop and bar
- Be the first point of contact for the owners to check in and see how the business is travelling and if there are any concerns to be addressed.
- Ensure the business continues to trade in a profitable way.
- A high level of interpersonal skills is also required to ensure sound relationships are built and maintained between the residents and businesses, returning guests/customers and travelers who stop there for the first time. The manager is often the person who people aim to build a relationship with and is an important part of the businesses image.
- It is the managers responsibility to maintain and build the business’s reputation and ensure it is not damaged.
Requirements and skills:
● Associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma and a minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Hotel Manager, hotel operations manager or a similar role OR at least three years of relevant experience in hospitality management or a related field if you do not hold any qualifications;
● Strong leadership skills, problem-solving understanding, and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Skills:
● Computer literate and fluent with time and attendance systems
● Work with and communicate effectively within a team environment.
● Excellent attention to detail
● Highly motivated personality
● Great communication and customer service skills
● Well presented and attention to detail
● Experience with SwiftPOS software and the Microsoft suite of applications
● A valid RSA and Approved Managers certificate.
