Role Summary
The Hotel Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper and efficient management of the hospitality, lifestyle and domestic services that are provided at the Midland Nursing Home facility. The position manages several budgets, contributes to the continuous quality improvement plan and towards the excellence of broader service delivery operation for the facility. The position seeks to develop and improve these services, all while considering and following relevant legislations, standards and internal policies. The position plays a critical role in driving positive culture, service excellence and a person-centered approach to care through the mentorship and supervision of staff teams.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, legislations and policies
- Managing financial aspects of facility operation such as annual budgets, cost controls and financial reporting
- Responsibility for overseeing the management of hospitality and domestic staff, including performance and rostering
- Creating a feedback-positive workplace that makes staff and residents feel valued for their input, and seeks to act on the feedback received
- Ensures that the standard of hospitality, cleaning and laundry services across the facility are of a hotel level standard
Skills, Attributes and Experience
We are looking for a significantly experienced hospitality management professional with a track record of high performance. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for working within this space, and a strong commitment to the provision of excellent leisure and hospitality services. They will have highly developed leadership and communication skills, including an ability to converse with people from all walks of life and are used to bringing a customer service focuse to the work they perform. We are also looking for someone who has elite organisational/time management skills, which allows them to keep a cool head in the face of pressure/deadlines and make composed, logical decisions that serve to benefit all involved.
Key criteria:
- Significant experience gained within management or supervisory capacities within a well-reputed leisure/hospitality sector
- Tertiary qualifications within hospitality or business will be well regarded
- Proven business acumen and analytical skills that have the capacity to inform business decisions
