ABOUT THE ROLE
Supported Independent Living - Operations/House Supervisor

Due to planned growth we are looking for an experienced person who can demonstrate hands on team leadership skills to assist our Operations Manager in the building of enthusiastic and committed teams, and who has an eye for detail to ensure best practice is implemented within all facets of our workplace. This role is a full time position of 76hrs per fortnight and comes with a laptop and mobile phone. Flexible working arrangements will be considered upon request.
This role combines the administrative and leadership functions of supporting small teams of Support Workers, organisational process, and if required direct support. This position requires staff to:
- Provide support and supervision to front-line staff within accommodation settings during rostered hours (includes in person, via phone, and email)
- Assist in coordinating the day to day activities, routines, and systems which support the operations of the programs
- Facilitate house, client, and team meetings as well as the processes of feedback, improvement, and complaints
- Oversee and implement risk management plans, support plans, goal planners, and site WHS functions
- Monitor and ensure documentation and records at the site are completed appropriately
- Complete client summaries and reports as required
- Provide role-modelling and face to face coaching to staff
- Support the induction and orientation processes for new team members (including site induction and shadow/buddy shift support)
- Engage in regular support and supervision (including the completion of a monthly reports)
- Site rostering
- Participate in the on-call roster
To be considered for the position, you will have:
Essential
- Qualifications (Diploma or CERT IV in Disability Work, Mental Health, Community Services or equivalent) or 2 years demonstrated experience in disability, mental health, youth work or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the NDIS and Disability legislation and standards
- A strong commitment to the rights of individuals and the principals of trauma informed practice
- Understanding of and commitment to quality positive behaviour support
- Ability to prioritise tasks, share information and excellent time management skills
- Highly developed and effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster committed and collaborative teams
- The ability to develop and maintain a safe work environment
- NDIS Worker Screen, WWCC, NDIS Orientation Module Certification, and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain this qualification prior to the commencement of this role)
- Current NSW Drivers licence, and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated computer literacy – MS Word and MS Outlook
Desirable
- Previous training in positive behaviour support and rights-based service delivery
- Experience in complex residential support settings for adults and/or youth
- Understanding of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention strategies
