  • Fixed term Part time contract to June 2026 (32 hours per week)

  • SCHADs Award Level 5 ($47.50 - $49.65 per hour)

Footprints Community is a well-regarded not-for-profit provider of community-based services, working in the community for over 30 years. We specialise in working with older people, those that experience disability, mental illness, as well as those who are at risk of homelessness.

About the role and program

Reporting to the Coordinator - Housing Older Women's Support Service (HOWSS), this role provides support through Case Management to older women who require preventative support around housing and tenancy and/or who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. To access appropriate and sustainable housing as well as community care, other Support Services and upskilling, specifically targeted at reducing the impact of homelessness and early intervention in order to reduce the risk of homelessness.

The role includes providing tailored tenancy information, advice, and guidance to facilitate self-advocacy. The target group is women 50 years and over and 45 years and over for First Nations, who are needing support around housing or experiencing housing stress or insecure accommodation or homelessness.

This Case Manager position will be based at the Footprints Communityoffice in Mackay and will provide support to the greater Mackay, Whitsundays and Isaac region.

About you

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification e.g., Community Services, Human Services, Social Work or related discipline and/or demonstrated experience in the sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with a diverse client group including older people, people with disabilities, people experiencing mental illness and people experiencing homelessness or those at risk of, and people with disability and their carers/families.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of older women, especially those with a lived experience of homelessness or housing stress.
  • Experience working for a community-based organisation and with community groups.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the delivery of trauma-informed practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in community networking and working collaboratively with external service providers to plan and provide consistent, responsive, and appropriate client focused services.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to effectively manage a client data base. Ability to work remotely from a team when required, and ability to utilise virtual meeting platforms e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom.
  • Current class C driver license
  • Ability to use your own insured vehicle
  • National NDIS Worker Screening Check or current Yellow Card
  • Experience collaborating with a Lived Experience workforce (desirable)
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (desirable)
