Housing Support Worker
Permanent Full Time - 80 hours per fortnight
Classification: Welfare Worker (XL8) or as per experience
Award: Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2026
This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join the Community Services team, working to provide housing case management, support, case coordination, advocacy, information, and referrals to appropriate services for people who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness; to support people in their decision making and independence.
Goals are to resolve crisis, to re-establish family links where appropriate and to re-establish a capacity to live independently by improving access to a range of supports, long term secure affordable housing and other social services. Apply Now!

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in Community Services or Welfare
- Experience and skills in working within a homeless service
- Understanding and experience in working with disadvantaged and vulnerable clients
Technical/Professional Knowledge and skills
- Sensitivity to, and understanding of, marginalised sectors of the community including people experiencing housing crisis
- Knowledge of the local service environment, well developed networks within the community, and knowledge of appropriate services and supports available for clients experiencing homelessness
- Well-developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to liaise and consult with a range of professionals, community groups and local agencies
Personal Attributes
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Proven ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
- Ability to perform in a changing work environment
