$120,188 - $140,170* + 15.4% super
Canberra, Brisbane or Melbourne based

ABOUT THE ROLE

HR Operations is a small team within the People and Property branch, responsible for delivering a range of HR functions including recruitment, performance management, payroll, advice on terms and conditions and WHS. We take a customer-centric approach to deliver our services in a fast-paced environment.

The HR Operations Advisor works across many operational HR functions, with a focus on working collaboratively with senior leaders and colleagues in HR to develop strategies and provides hands on support to resolve a range of people related matters.

With a new Enterprise Agreement on the horizon, the HR Operations Advisor will take the lead on a range of implementation activities including system changes, policy development and education for staff and managers.

The duties of the HR Operations Advisor position may include:

  • Providing specialist advice on a range of employment issues
  • Provide advice on workplace relations matters, including building and maintaining collaborative relationships with union and staff representatives
  • Supporting senior leaders on complex people issues
  • Leading the delivery of an effective payroll function through an external managed service arrangement, providing advice on complex pay matters.
  • Driving improvements to HR service delivery and processes
  • Contributing to a range of Enterprise Agreement implementation activities
  • Regular HR reporting and data analysis

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong experience as a HR professional, with a proven track record delivering operational functions and effectively working through complex people issues
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A deep understanding of relevant employment legislation

Note: Information about our terms and conditions of employment are contained in the AMSA Enterprise Agreement 2016-2019 until AMSA's new Enterprise Agreement 2024-2027 is approved by the Fair Work Commission. 

* The abovementioned salary will apply once the Enterprise Agreement 2024-2027 comes into effect.

Note: this process may be used to fill future HR vacancies within AMSA at this level.
