About the Role
CMET is seeking an adept Human Resource Manager to join our team. This role is integral to overseeing all human resource functions within CMET, guaranteeing a knowledgeable, professional, and efficient service across all facets of human resources management and strategy. As a standalone role, it demands robust generalist skills covering the entire HR life cycle.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead the implementation of strategic planning frameworks for HR, ER/IR, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
- Deliver timely and effective HR solutions to meet operational needs.
- Provide counsel on end-to-end case management, including disciplinary matters, grievances, and employment legislation.
- Develop and maintain policies aligned with legislation and HR best practices.
- Manage relationships with unions and employee representatives, negotiating, interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements and resolving ER/IR issues.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team with key HR deliverables such as reporting, succession planning, and diversity initiatives.
- Oversee the Local Industry Participation (LIPP) Management Plan to foster local opportunities.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, WHS, workers compensation, and remuneration processes.
- Ensure compliance with training requirements and represent the business in external dealings.
What You Will Bring to Our Team
- Undergraduate/postgraduate qualification in HR, Employment Law, or Business Administration (AHRI member/certified desirable).
- 5+ years of senior HR leadership experience.
- 10+ years of generalist HR experience.
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
- Experience in industrial relations, WHS, and workers compensation.
- Prior experience in contractual and commercial environments.
- Familiarity with industry accreditation schemes (such as ISO 9000) and public transport operations is advantageous.
