We are seeking an experienced hands-on EHS professional to join our dynamic team in Yatala to lead our safety initiatives on our greenfield project.

• Support the safety team onsite at our greenfield site based in Yatala

• 2 Year Fixed-Term contract with scope to support other projects longer term

Build Run Repair (BRR), a division of the wider Visy Group, provides Technical Advisory, Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services for the Pulp & Paper, Packaging, Recycling and Waste to Energy sectors.

As we continue to innovate and expand our operations in Glass manufacturing, we are seeking a diligent and proactive individual to play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our project based at Yatala (QLD).

Reporting to the Project HSE Manager and working alongside construction managers and contractors, this hands-on role is accountable for ensuring that stringent safety standards are maintained at our greenfield construction site and are in accordance with group policies.

This role would be a 5-day on-site role with an early start-time (latest 7AM).

The Role

Reporting to the HSE Manager - BRR, you will support the operational delivery of the Health and Safety division for the Yatala Glass Project to ensure all records are in compliance that spans to cross-functional teams and divisions.

As the HSE Advisor, you will drive the operational delivery of the HSE Management Plan for a major project so that identified HSE outcomes are met and to provide timely and expert advice and support to the HSE and Project/ Construction Managers.

The key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Implement project HSE plans and enforce safe systems of work on the project site
• Advise and assist the Project Team in all HSE-related matters
• Review contractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Safety and Environmental

Analysis (JSEA) and related documents and processes, as submitted by the contractors.

• Enforce Permit to Work procedures
• Ensure Corrective Action Requests raised on his site are addressed in a timely manner
• Schedule, communicate and direct emergency drills at the Project site
• Deliver induction and other HSE-related training
• Report and investigate incidents and near misses and participates in dissemination of lessons

• Conduct periodic audits and inspections
• Liaison with contractor site representatives to maintain open communication and a high standard of safety and quality on the project

What you will bring to the team:

• Significant experience in Occupational Health and Safety related positions in a Heavy Industry, Construction or Mining environment
• Experience in Greenfield or Brownfield start ups or shut downs highly regarded
• Higher Technical / vocational qualification in HSE
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Car License
