Bechtel Energy has an opportunity for an experienced HSE Representative to join the team on the Pluto Train 2 project. This is a FIFO role from Perth, Western Australia to Karratha, Western Australia on a 3 weeks on / 1 week off roster.

About the Project:

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.

About the Role:

In your new role, you will be promoting and embracing One Team and Zero Incident philosophies through continued action and support of the projects Health, Safety and Environment Vision Statement and Home Safe commitments.

Providing technical assistance and consultation to project and construction management in implementing and complying with project HSE requirements, you will be addressing safety/health issues as they arise during project execution.

You will be working with construction personnel to develop risk assessments, JHAs and project specific mitigation plans, safety and health awareness training programs, and technical and regulatory reports.

About You:

Qualified with a Degree or Gradate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related science/engineering area preferred, you will also bring diverse experience in a similar role. Previous refinery/chemical/LNG plant construction HSE experience is preferred.

You will have:

  • working knowledge of safe work practices and experience in conducting accident investigations, compliance audits and project health surveys
  • proficiency in conducting HSE training programs
  • proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis.
  • intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft software applications.

Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
