ABOUT THE ROLE
As HSE Manager you will provide day-to-day support and guidance for our team, maintain company certifications, and drive a positive and safe and healthy work culture. In addition you will:
- Lead initiatives for a safe and healthy workplace, and foster and promote a positive HSE culture
- Ensure regulatory and compliance oversight
- Provide HSE assistance, support and advice across the company
- Collaborate with Management and team members on the ground to mitigate risks
- Implement business requirements in accordance with legislation, ISO 45001: 2018, and ISO 14001:2015
- Work with site teams to carry out HSE risk assessments, maintain risk registers and develop and implement SOPs
- Manage contractors and ensure compliance to legislative requirements
- Conduct HSE training and inductions
- Support the investigation of HSE incidents to determine the root cause, contributing factors and corrective actions and communicate and implement key learnings
- Report on health, safety and quality statistics
- Coordinate and conduct regular audits to guarantee compliance with ISO standards, and actively contribute to all external audit requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance
- Manage injury and return to work processes for all staff
- Maintaining current and extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and standards

ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary Qualification or minimum Certificate IV in WHS.
- Previous experience in a similar role in the commercial construction, civil or landscaping industry is highly desirable.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of WHS Legislation and ISO 45001: 2018 (Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice), ISO 14001:2015 Environment Standard and Risk Management.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment desirable
- Driver’s Licence
- White Card – Construction
- Current First Aid
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, computer skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all team levels
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Uphold accountability for safety measures
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external parties
- Ability to demonstrate strong leadership
