BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation's Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.
Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.

Job description:
We are seeking a CHPP Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Meandu. This is a permanent, full-time, residential position. The successful applicant is expected to live in the local area in order to work in accordance with the company values and to demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tools and leadership to create and sustain a culture of proactive health safety and wellbeing.
- Maintain environmental compliance through competent technical direction for the maintenance of fixed plant.
- Review work practices, actively manage people performance and development, supporting the CHPP Manager in leading change.
- Achieve target equipment performance and costs through effective maintenance strategies and delivery against these strategies.
- Actively contribute to daily operations and fixed plant maintenance by participating in pre-start, toolbox feedback and group safety involvement to achieve results.
- Ensure the continual review of weekly operations, identify and deliver projects to improve Safety, Culture and Productivity.
- Contribute to the development and management of the annual CHPP maintenance budget and provide monthly cost reforecasts to manage costs.
- Promote a culture of continual improvement throughout the CHPP maintenance team aimed at safety, performance and cost improvements.
Profile description:
The ideal candidate will posses a combination or all of the following:
- Knowledge of Coal Mining Safety and Health Act & legislation and its application in the workplace
- Relevant certifications: S1,2,3 & G2.
- Mechanical trade qualification or relevant tertiary qualifications is desirable.
- Experience with fixed plant maintenance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the mining industry's regulations and legislation relating to health and safety.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced level of computer literacy and the ability to analyse data.
- Ability to develop strong, long-term relationships with clients with the aim of securing repeat business.
