RiverCity Ferries is a subsidiary of Kelsian Group Limited, contracted to operate and maintain the Brisbane City Council’s Ferry fleet with associated infrastructure. The network of 26 terminals is serviced by 30 vessels over a 20km stretch of the Brisbane River, moving over 5 million passengers a year. A Maintenance Facility at Rivergate Marina, together with an Operation Base at Hawthorne form the primary places maintenance is performed.
About You
- Certificate IV or higher in OHS/WHS
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role

The requirements listed above will be complimented by experience which ensures success in the following key functions of the position:
- Maintaining and continually improving the HSEQ Document System and Vessel Safety Management Systems
- Assisting the General Manager promote a culture of safety awareness, injury and incident prevention
- Promoting a safe working environment and the ongoing development of risk management processes
- Continually improving Management and Employee education and awareness
- Monitoring HSEQ training needs, marine safety training and the completion of training and drills
- Monitoring changes and amendments to legislation and updating systems accordingly
- Managing hazard and incident reporting and monitoring the close out and effectiveness of Actions
- Coordinating workers compensation and return to work policies and procedures.
- Conducting effective Incident Investigations to determine contributing factors and root cause analysis
- Conducting vessel and workplace inspections, risk assessments and audits
- Analysing trends in HSEQ performance and making recommendations to management for improvement
As the business operates 365 days a year, flexibility and availability outside normal business hours may be required.
