Our client is a fifth-generation, Australian family-owned company, with 120 years’ experience in delivering a diverse range of high-quality and cost-effective products and projects across Australia, with footprints overseas. Due to a new project, they have a need for an experienced HSQE Advisor to join their Mackay team.
Your new role
As the HSQE Advisor, you will play a crucial role in the project.
- Maintain and control company HSQE Management Systems to ensure site compliance.
- Conduct Daily Site Walkarounds, HSE Inspections, and Plant Inspections to ensure safety standards.
- Coordinate projects auditing of operations from a HSQE perspective to identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in project planning to incorporate WHS and environmental factors into procedures and specifications
- Communicate new HSE systems, policies, and procedures to employees to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Provide administrative support for the review of Ahrens documentation and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and standards.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you'll need previous experience in a similar position.
- Formal qualifications in WHS practices.
- Experience in documenting policies and procedures.
- Practical experience using safety management systems software.
- In-depth knowledge of WHS practices, principles, and legislative requirements.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including negotiation and issue resolution.
What you'll get in return
You will be offered a permanent role, contracted for 12-16months, in Paget, Mackay. The salary can be negotiated on this role as a daily or hourly rate.
