About the Role
We are currently seeking a self-motivated, experienced, and professional HR Administrator to join the Human Resources team. The successful candidate will be able to juggle a variety of tasks, able to change priorities quickly and efficiently and to be always highly organised. This role will be supporting two HR professionals with their daily tasks and HR projects. A great opportunity for a candidate who has just begun their HR career and is interested in learning the hospitality industry.
You will highly organised, have an exceptional eye for detail, learn information quickly and demonstrate efficient and effective time management. Your confidence will be a reflection of your high level of communication – verbal, written and listening, and your excellent personal presentation. You will be empathetic when dealing with emotional situations and always have an approachable, friendly, and helpful manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
- HR Operations - Perform general administrative duties as required including word processing, answering telephones and filing (promptly and efficiently), Provide administrative HR assistance for staff i.e.: employee letters.
- Recruitment & Selection - Provide administrative support to the recruitment and selection process by posting new job adverts, application screening, coordinate interviews for the Hiring Managers, reference checking, onboarding documentation. i.e. prepare contracts of employment and ensure they have been signed and returned prior to commencing work.
- Learning and Development - Assist in the co-ordination of all internal and external training programs.
- OH&S - Coordinate OH&S meetings and ensure representation across the hotel, prepare and circulate minutes from the monthly OH&S committee meetings.
- Communication - Assist the HR team in the coordination of staff events monthly, quarterly, and annually, ensure notice boards are accurate and up to date.
- Reward and Recognition - Coordinate quarterly award category nominations program, ensure the quarterly awards category votes are finalised prior to the presentation.
- Administration - Create and maintain accurate employee personnel records, ensure visa documentation is maintained timely manner.
- Payroll Administration - Ensure new starter and staff termination procedure is followed, Create finger scan recognition accounts for new starters once profile created.
- Staff departures - ensure Resignation letters are saved on staff file to ensure compliance, employee termination forms are processed in timely manner and exit interviews are completed and circulated to HR Manager and responsible manager for follow up.
- Compliance - Accountable for personal and team compliance with internal company policies, procedures, for example, Code of Conduct, and all applicable external laws, regulations, standards and industry codes.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook
- Knowledge of the relevant Industrial Awards, National Employment Standards and Employment Law is essential.
- Experience using Zambion or other similar time and attendance system is desirable.
- Hospitality experience is desirable.
- Certificate or Higher in Human Resources is preferred.
- Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator is an advantage.
- Interpretation and implementation of an Enterprise Agreement is desirable.
- Be an Australian Resident or have the legal right to work in Australia on a full-time basis.
