Humanities 7-9, Full time, Hoppers crossing

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Junior/Middle years Humanities Teacher to join a government school in Hoppers Crossing, Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Humanities to students years 7-9 in a full-time role beginning as soon as possible.

The secondary college has a current enrollment of around 1500 students, situated in an urban growth corridor approximately 20 mins west of Melbourne, educating students from years 7-12.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons lessons to students in years 7-9.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and wellbeing
• Develop and implement assessment strategies that provide timely and constructive feedback to students
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans and programs
• Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents and carers about student progress and achievement
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching and learning practice

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
• Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum
• Experience teaching Secondary students advantageous
• Graduates welcome to apply
