Summary: The HVAC Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role involves creating detailed designs, performing calculations, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring that HVAC systems meet safety and regulatory standards. The Mechanical Engineer - HVAC may also be involved in troubleshooting issues with existing systems and providing technical support to other team members. I am recruiting for several roles across Canberra with clients promising attractive remuneration packages for the successful candidates. Responsibilities:
Design commercial HVAC systems based on project requirements and specifications
Perform heat load calculations and energy efficiency analyses
Select appropriate equipment and materials for HVAC systems
Create detailed drawings using CAD design software
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure system integration.
Conduct tests to evaluate the performance of HVAC systems.
Troubleshoot issues with existing HVAC systems and propose solutions.
Ensure compliance with building codes and regulatory standards.
Provide technical support to project teams during construction and installation phases,
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in HVAC engineering
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5 years of experience in designing HVAC systems (desired)
Proficiency in CAD software for creating detailed drawings
Strong knowledge of heat transfer principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
Familiarity with building codes and regulations related to HVAC systems
Australian Citizenship and baseline security clearance.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Please note only candidates who hold Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency will be considered for these positions. Junior Mechanical engineers are also encouraged to apply and will be considered at a lower salary.
