The Role:
This is an opportunity for experienced Hydraulic Fitters to work in our engineering workshop in QUEANBEYAN NSW. The role is predominantly focused on providing quality workshop service, maintenance and repairs as well as the fitment and programming of new crane installations.
- Full-time: Monday to Friday (7.00am - 3.06pm + OT per business requirements) – occasional ½ day Saturday.

Join an established and successful service team in this hands-on role:
- Carry out detailed service and safety inspections on mobile equipment including condition monitoring and preventative maintenance in accordance with thorough inspection procedures
- Read and interpret schematic diagrams and use test equipment to isolate and effectively troubleshoot problems on a wide range of industrial equipment
- Repair work and modifications on a broad range of mobile hydraulic and mechanical equipment including hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors and valves
- Carry out general machining and mechanical bench work;
- Carry out structural repairs and maintenance including minor welding and fabrication
- Fitment, programming and servicing of truck mounted cranes
- Thoroughly test and quality control all work
- Ensure high standards of workmanship are maintained and quality standards are met
- Complete all administration of job records accurately and efficiently
Skills and Experience
Minimum Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade [Fitter & Turner] or equivalent certified trade eg diesel mechanic or heavy plant, with post trade hydraulic qualifications and experience.
- Diverse experience in a wide range of fitting & mechanical skills
- Experience with servicing & maintenance on a broad range of mobile equipment including truck mounted cranes
- Have a measurable track record with fluid power equipment and technical hydraulic knowledge
- Possess a sound understanding of fluid power application and schematic design interpretation
- Strong mechanical skills
- Diagnostic and problem- solving mindset
- An understanding of hydraulic and electronic control and safety systems an advantage
- Good attention to detail
- Must be thorough and efficient
- Understand and follow policies, procedures and instructions
- Post trade Fluid Power qualifications desirable
- Physically fit with a great ‘Can Do’ attitude
- Drivers licence and own vehicle
